Covington San Francisco

Ethereal ambiance meets futuristic design, where every curve illuminates brilliance.

Application: Skyscraper Workspace
Designer: Lehman Smith McLeish
Lighting Designer: Fisher Marantz Stone
Photographer: Jason O'Rear; Garry Belinsky

Perched high above the city on four floors, Covington San Francisco is a bespoke office space that captivates with its ethereal ambiance and futuristic design. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in an expansive, ever-bright environment that feels like an office in the clouds.

The design philosophy revolves around strong curved lines and strategically placed small aperture downlights, which subtly enhance illumination and uniformity while accentuating the layers of the space. Special surfaces are meticulously accented to complete the composition, creating a visually stunning synthesis of architecture and light.

The lighting design not only complements the abundant daylight but also prioritizes vertical surfaces and highlights feature elements, creating high contrast ratios and maintaining balance between interior and exterior views, even during "white-out" daytime weather conditions. The result is a visual experience that feels liquid as one moves through the office, enhancing the mood and encouraging collaborative workspaces and chance encounters among users.
